Simba Studios in Westgate, Old Mazoe Road has laid solid it’s plans to raise the upcoming musicians in need of a stable to grow their talents.

 

Simba Studios is equipped with latest technology in live recording therefore it is an equal alternative. The management's move to counterbalance difficulties young and aspiring musicians are facing is noticable by the whirlwind movement of upcoming musicians in Zimbabwe.

 

Some established studios and promoters give attention to popular musicians whom they regard bankable.  Budding musicians are left with no choice but to engage fly by night studios who are cheap. A lot of these back door studios are not professional and they also lack appropriate knowledge and equipment. The creativity of upcoming musicians then becomes compromised. The music is hurriedly released without due polishing, the mistakes are passed on to the market. Music is a business and it is highly competitive, the first cut is the deepest. 

 

 Upcoming musicians still need a lot of guidance because of inexperience, some of the times upcoming musicians do not recognize their mistakes, so a responsible studio must help by guiding appropriately. It’s usually very difficult for a novice to notice own mistakes at their debut album recording.

 

Simba studios has erected systems that will give any of their signings value irrespective of fame. The professionalism checks at Simba Studios involve the A & R Manager, the musician’s management and the Studio Director. The producers haven’t got the entire quality approval, they are part of the team.

 

The studio runs a lot of promotions that see some budding musicians recording for free. Recently a group of 19 musicians under the banner New Era recorded a double single on peace and anti drug abuse for free.

 

The studio was inspired by the need of owner and director Jane Stovring to record her own music conveniently. Jane Stovring is a musician who once was based in Europe due to work commitments. Jane seized the opportunity of technology in Europe to acquire studio equipment while there. The studio opened it’s doors in 2015. Simba Studios is located in Westgate near the dog session department of Police.

 

The studio was established at the Stovring Simba Guest House which makes it favorable to those musicians who need to have their work recorded at night. Restrooms are available with decent shower rooms, gone are the times when musicians would sleep on studio couches and chairs.
