Ambrose Ngunzi aka King Nyamz is very grateful to his followers for making him believe in his musical abilities. Each time he performed at school and at traditional gatherings people would pass positive reviews.

 

Identifying talent is very crucial in determining which course to take. While participating in traditional dance and singing at school and traditional events King Nyamz’s talent was spotted. In order to match the high demands of the music industry a musician must be polished. The lucrative music business is highly competitive locally and internationally. The feedback empowered King Nyamz to start.

 

King Nyamz has set his path straight, he aspires to be an international star. While working in South Africa he has assembled a band to back him at live concerts. By the end of this September King Nyamz is releasing a single Kutenderera. It’s a song whose message was derived from the situations people around him are going through. King Nyamz advices in the song that wondering doesn’t mean you are lost, push hard a breakthrough will come.

 

King Nyamz is a talented musician who wants to rise and put the Zimbabwean map on the international music radar. King Nyamz says his challenges so far are funding, marketing is very expensive and for his work to be noticed a substantial amount has to be spend. The Zimbabwean music business is self funded now unlike in other countries where talented musicians are signed by record labels that invest on potential.

 

King Nyamz plays afro fusion, a fusion of the western guitars, mbira and ngoma. He says his inspiration is in touching the hearts of communities so that they live in harmony. A lot of people are resented because of unending persecutions. King Nyamz look up to an untangled society, to achieve this he is going to make sure his music reaches out.
